If I wasn’t on a list before, I am now
I was not prepared for what I was about to watch. The CrunchyRoll description talked only of a genius inventor girl crushing on a guy. Figured it’d be your typical dumb anime rom-com. Nope, this show immediately starts out with Ueno trying to get her crush Tanaka to drink her pee. Sure, it had just been recently filtered via her new invention, but we spend half the episode with her trying to force him to drink it. This is all done in some misguided way to show her affection. The subsequent inventions only up the ante from here. One is an invention that creates “dark matter” to appear in certain places. Ueno uses this to make it impossible to look up her skirt and asks Tanaka to try peeking from various angles. It is further revealed she is completely naked underneath. Thankfully, the invention works flawlessly, but the implications are troubling to say the least. The show even goes back to this well in the third episode. Ueno makes device that can project censoring images on one’s private areas for the swim team captain who apparently is dealing with a peeping tom. The captain proceeds to immediately strip to test it out, and then tease Tanaka, and by proxy Ueno, with it. Tanaka being a complete fucking idiot just wants to touch the floating censor bar and ends up groping the girl. Pretty much every single invention revolves around panties, sexual harassment/assault, and other incredibly lewd or perverted behavior.
I should also mention that these characters are depicted as being no older than 13 years old. This is definitely not appropriate in any way shape or form. I think it’s all supposed to be humorous but it just comes off as creepy. It doesn’t help that most episodes are also just Ueno screaming for 10 minutes which is not easy on the ears. There is a third character, Yamashita, but she is almost robotic and adds little to show. The only good thing I can say about this anime is that each episode is only about 12-13 minutes long so it meant I was done with my minimum watch time in half the time. I cannot in good conscience recommend that anyone watch this show. Go re-watch Dragonball or something, it’s a much better use of your time.
