No, No I do not love this Mom.
There could have been something to this show, there really could have been. An isekai where the MC’s mom is dragged in with him. Could be some good opportunity to parody things, comment on the harem nature of these shows, really anything besides what they’ve done. Instead, we get MILFsekai and all the cringe and abject horror that implies. Masato, our MC, gets pulled into a new video game as a tester for it. His mom, Mamako, also joins him in this MMMMORPG (Mom’s Massively Maternal Multiplayer Making-up-with-Offspring Role Playing Game). As the name implies, the purpose of this game is for mom’s and their kid to become closer. Masato and Mamako eventually form a party with Porta, a small merchant girl, and Wise, a powerful sage who ditched her mom after a big fight. Wise is pretty much what you’d get if you crossed Satania with Aqua. They go on a couple quests but Mamako is so over powered they’re incredibly trivial. Really, if the point of the game is for them to bond, the game needs some serious balancing. The mom’s seem way OP and that can’t be good psychologically for their much weaker children.
Sounds pretty standard isekai right? Well it takes a real fucking hard left turn real fucking fast. I’m just going to list a few lines that are even worse when viewed in context:
- Your mommy is soaking wet
- Mommy is wearing a thong today
- You can’t join a mommy and her son in the bath?
Yep, that’s the direction this show chose to go in. We’re also treated to scenes of the mother’s clothing being dissolved by slimes, Masato falling into his naked mother’s body repeatedly, grabbing his mother’s breast, and a group bath scene with the mom, MC and their two female party members. I cannot tell you how unsettling it was for Mamako to consistently refer to herself as mommy. Someone at this animation studio has a sever oedipus complex and they need some help fast. We also get really great scenes of her in an armor bikini and as a schoolgirl. The other mom’s are no better, sexualized in some way or another. Wise also get’s some extensive fan service with some real obvious panty shots and the aforementioned bath scene. This is not just trash, but it is trash of a very uncomfortable nature. I’d advise people to stay clear.
